Nico Bellomo

Birds have been a source of inspiration for mankind since before the development of language.  Their ability to fly, their cheery morning song and the gorgeous arrangements of their feathers all stir something deep inside us.  But sadly birds are highly more susceptible to the effects of pollution based on their small size and about 90,000 migratory birds die every year from colliding with tall buildings.  To pay homage to our indirect manslaughter of one of nature’s most unique evolutionary branches, Nico Bellomo’s latest photographic study records dead birds.  Each still exudes a melancholic beauty and a touch of remorse.
