Kim Rugg

Wow.  Kim Rugg found a neat little loophole in the British Postal system.  Apparently, when the computers scan letters to check if there is proper postage paid they only scan for colors present, not shape.  Manipulating this random fact, Rugg dissects stamps into pieces then meticulously recreates them into redeemable art, about a £1.40 that is.

I’ve been reading about how the postal system in the states is going under because everyone uses email and pays their bills online these days.  They should absolutely buy into this, a series of collector stamps? Commisioned work for auction?  If anything it’s the coolest legal tender I’ve ever seen, yes, stamps are legal tender.
