HomeHero Fire Extinguisher

Oh Shit, my house is on fire, where did I hide that ugly 2 liter fire extinguisher so it doesn’t look like I’m living in a tenement building?  Too late?  Probably.  It wasn’t until 2 months ago that my apartment even had a working smoke detector and I can guarantee we don’t have a fire extinguisher, not for sake of fashion but perhaps after seeing this beauty I could say it is.

Designed by Arnell Group, LLC, the HomeHero (cute, catchy) won gold for the 2007 IDEA (International Design Excellence Awards) Competition.  Taking a device whose usual bright red antiseptic gleam reminds us of death and is therefor hidden behind the Quaker oatmeal in the pantry or some equally unvisited corner of the home and bringing it center stage to the counter top.

The device even wirelessly links to other Arnell devices in the home so when the HomeHero is removed from it’s docking station it automatically cues any installed fire alarms.  Pretty clever.  And with an array of material/color/finish options to choose from this life saving device is no longer a forgotten eye sore, keeping it at hand for when the panic ensues.  Cue flames.
